As the end of 2017 draws closer, it is a great time to take a step back and reflect on the past year. For Big Al’s, 2017 has been a triumph. With various product launches, an outstanding number of concept installs and menu builds and Big Al’s receiving an Innovation Challenge Award at Lunch!, it is safe to say this past year has been an immense success.

Exciting Launches
In the past year, Big Al’s has added three new products to its delicious range. Committed to pushing boundaries and focussing on innovation, the Big Al’s Chicken Fillet, Big Al’s Breakfast Twist, and Big Al’s Prime Burger are all new additions to the portfolio this year. Each offers operators with an opportunity to attract more customers and see a rise in sales.

The Big Al’s Breakfast Twist allows outlets to tap into the ever expanding breakfast opportunity and offer busy consumers a tasty and on the go solution. Comprised of bacon, cheese, and egg wrapped in authentic and Italian-made unique microwavable dough, the Big Al’s Breakfast Twists are ready to eat in 60 seconds from frozen and come served in consumer-ready hand-held packaging.

With chicken becoming evermore popular on menus, the launch of the Big Al’s Chicken Fillet could not come sooner. The product allows operators to offer menu items consumers are after and are bar marked, Halal and made with 100% breast meat. Cooks from frozen in minutes, the Big Al’s Chicken Fillet is a very versatile product – make it into the most delicious chicken burger build, fold onto a scrumptious lunchtime wrap or serve in a tasty salad. High in protein and low in fat, the Big Al’s Chicken Fillet is a healthy addition to the range.

A Big Al’s year of success

A new venture for Big Al’s, The Prime Burger is its first raw product. Made with 100% grass-fed chuck and brisket beef, full traceable from farm to fork, the Prime Burger has been developed to meet consumer desire for gourmet tastes whilst also supporting operators to deliver on-trend dishes that guarantee consistency of serve.

As well as new products, Big Al’s also launched an exciting new branded food concept in 2017 – Big Al’s Pub Grub. Ideal for on-trade venues the Big Al’s Pub Grub concept features a classic wood, chalk and blackboard design and has been created to look at home in any pub. The concept also includes a downloadable, editable menu, a cook time guide, POS and a checklist for getting started with a food offering. Big Al’s Pub Grub offers a cost-effective route to market for publicans to help them attract new customers and give their menu a refresh that communicates quality and authenticity.

Out and About
During 2017, Big Al’s attended 30 tradeshows in the key channels – education, pubs, travel and leisure. This provided a great way to meet new customers and spread the message of the brand.

In September, Big Al’s attended Lunch! where the Prime Burger was unveiled. Perfect for the QSR market, attendees were able to taste Big Al’s newest proposition on stand and vote for it in the prestigious Innovation Challenge Awards. 69 new and innovative products from across the show floor were whittled down to the top 15, and after pitching to a panel of industry experts, the Big Al’s Prime Burger received a bronze Innovation Challenge Award.

New Business
This year, Big Al’s has worked with various operators across the key channels to develop and launch branded food concepts, that don’t only look great, but operationally work extremely well. Consumers are no longer buying just food, but are wanting to invest in exciting, all-inclusive dining experiences. This year saw an impressive 40 new Big Al’s concept installs across the UK, in a range of universities, sports stadiums and leisure venues.

In addition to our record breaking number of installs, Big Al’s also launched the Concept Guide, a go-to brochure outlining the key features and benefits of Big Al’s Burger Bar, Big Al’s Foodiees and Big Al’s Diner. Each with their own individual style, Big Al’s concepts share one common goal – to support caterers in driving revenue and footfall while serving up trend led menu solutions that give customers a reason to return time and time again.
